The Nigerian Institutions of Mechanical Engineers, National Students Forum, NIMechE -NSF has elected new national leader during the recently concluded National Conference and AGM in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Mustapha Abdullateef Abdulkareem of Kano State Univerisity of Science and technology Wudil emerged as the ntaional President.

Inaugurated during the tenue of Engr. Ayo Fanimokun, the Forum is NIMechE’s way of giving voice to students members and also overseeing their welfare under the body.
2024/2025 Executives
1• Abdulkareem Mustapha Abdullateef, National President NIMechE-NSF.
Abdullateef is a student of Kano State University Of Science & Tech, Wudil. He is a highly motivated and young mechanical engineering student with a proven track record in leadership. He held positions in various student organizations. Among which are: Assistant Secretary General, Nigeria Universities Engineering Students Association (ADUSTECH Chapter), Academic Director, Kano Engineering Students Association (National Body), Member, National Conference Committee, Northwest Coordinator, NiMechE NSF, Public Relations Officer (PRO) & Deputy Speaker (DSP), NiMechE ADUSTECH Chapter. All of which showcases his readiness for the tasks ahead.
He fluent in English, Yoruba, and Hausa languages and this has enabled him build strong relationships and bridge cultural divides, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
His mission is to lead NIMechE-NSF to become the premier student organization for mechanical engineering excellence in Nigeria, driving growth, skills development.
2• SANI Usman Baba- National Vice President
SANI USMAN BABA, politically know as Citizen Sani Baba, a patriotic citizen and son of the nation, and a passionate mechanical engineering student at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. (ATBU BAUCHI)
Prior to his election, he has served as the Academic Director of Mechanical Engineering, VICE-PRESIDENT NIMechE ATBU Chapter, PRESIDENT NIMechE ATBU Chapter (for a semester) and recently, serving as the President of the Nigerian Universities of Engineering Students, Association (NUESA ATBU BAUCHI)
His mission at NIMechE-NSF is to work with colleagues to drive impactful change for mechanical engineering students nationwide.
3• ARANSIOLA Abdulazeez- National General Secretary
Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
4• OBIEFULE Lucy Chinonyerem- Asst. National General Secretary
Imo State University.
The only female in the pack, Chionyerem is a mechanical engineering student at Imo State University (IMSU). She has a strong background in leadership and and inspired by the transformative potential of mechanical engineering, she envisions fostering a culture of innovation and creativity within the field.
As the Assistant General Secretary of NIMechE, Obiefule is committed to working with her other elected members to elevate the organization and drive positive change within NIMechE-NSF.
5• DUMDE Barikuma- National Financial Secretary
Dumde Barikuma is a promising mechanical engineering student at Rivers State University. He has passion for technology and a strong track record in leadership.
Before his election at National level, he has held various leadership positions within the Nigeria Universities Engineering Students Association (NiMechE) and other student organizations, demonstrating his ability to effectively lead and collaborate with diverse teams. Some of these are: Chief of Staff, NiMechE RSU Chapter, Financial Secretary NiMechE RSU Chapter, Media Director TACSFON RSU Chapter, Level Representative NiMechE RSU Chapter and Public Relation Officer (PRO), NUGOS RSU Chapter
Dumde possesses strong technical skills in SolidWorks design and simulation, web development, and photography. He is fluent in English and Gokana.
Dumde’s dedication to promoting the profession and empowering students aligns with his passion for making a positive impact on the field of mechanical engineering.
6• SAVIOUR Eventus- National Membership Secretary
Akwa Ibom State University.
A mechanical engineering student at Akwa Ibom State Univeristy, Savior Eventus Albert is a skilled industrial machine technician with a strong background in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex machinery. He has expertise in heavy-duty equipment and automated systems.
As a dedicated member of the NIMechE NSF, Savior has served as the Public Relations Officer for the NIMechE AKSU chapter, demonstrating his commitment to promoting the organization and fostering community within the mechanical engineering field.
7• CHIMAMKPAM George Ikechukwu- National Publicity Secretary
CHIMAMKPAM is a highly motivated student at Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. He is CEO GEIYKE_VENTURES & IYKE AIRCON and a Co-founder at CS-AUTO-WORLD & SMART_NATIONS.
Ikechukwu acquired a professional leadership skill under the Leadership and Citizenship Training Center (LCTC) as a ManO’War. He also hold certification in HSE and has been recognised Rotaract Club for his Services to the community. he has served in leadership positions within students Associations. He believes in dedication to rules and regulations and collaborations to drive progress.
8• Solomon Olamide Fakeye- National Technical Secretary
Solomon Olamide Fakeye is a mechanical engineering student at Obafemi Awolowo University with a strong foundation in engineering, having previously earned a national diploma from Yaba College of Technology.
He is a Machine Learning Enthusiast who get attracted to the field because of his keen interest in creating viable solutions to engineering problems by leveraging on IT. he has been privileged to lead in various capacities within the students’ associations. .
Solomon has demonstrated leadership and communication skills through his involvement in various academic and extracurricular activities. He has a keen interest in research and development and has experience hosting, co-hosting, and moderating events, workshops, and trainings.
9• ALOKE Emmanuel Ifeanyi- National Treasurer
Aloke Emmanuel Ifeanyi is a student at Federal University of Technology, Owerri, FUTO where he served NIMechE-NSF as Assistant General Secretary before this election. With a strong background in leadership roles and a passion for excellence, He served on membership of a committee saddled with organizing internship training, lectures for students, and excursion for mechanical engineering students at FUTO.
Aloke’s practical experience includes AutoCAD design for mechanical services. His fluency in English, Igbo, and Yoruba gave him an edge to communicate effectively and collaborate with diverse individuals. Aloke’s ultimate aim is to work collaboratively with national executives of the NSF to promote excellence in mechanical engineering nationwide.
10. AGBAPULUONWU Micheal Uche- National Welfare Secretary
Imo State University
NIMechE National Students Forum, NIMechE-NSF is Students’ Wing of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, NIMechE with presence in tertiary Institutions offering Mechanical Engineering across the country. Under it, programmes and welfare of Student members of NIMechE are planned, executed and coordinated under the guide of National Committee appointed by NIMechE. It gives sense of belonging and encourage their progression from tertiary institution.
