On August, 29, 2023, the Ikeja Branch of Nigerian society of Engineers is set for the second edition of Engr Ademola Issac Olorunfemi Colloquium. A think tank and highly networking inclined event instituted in honour of a past president of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, Engr. Ademola Isaac Olorunfemi, a Fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers, and also a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering, among numerous Fellowships of other Professional Bodies.
The 2023 edition is holding at the Main hall of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, headquarters Annex, located on 1, Engineering Close, Victoria Island, Lagos. The theme of this edition is “Mechanized and Digital Options for Transforming teh Agricultural Value Chain as Nigeria’s Economic mainstay.”
The theme was chosen as part of efforts to deepen and maximize opportunities and potentials in the Nigeria’s Agricultural sector toward economic diversity. It is also in line with the federal Government’s Agricultural policy.
On hand as Resource Person is, Farmer Kola Adeniji, MD/CEO Niji Group. he will be joined by a former Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ile, who is currently the president of Pan African Society of Agricultural Engineering, Prof Michael Faborode, who will be moderating the highly anticipated event.
His Excellency, the Governor of Borno State, Prof Babagana Zulum and Engr. Dr. Kadri Obaferni Harnzat, Deputy Governor, Lagos State are is the Special Guests of Honour. Zulum is a Professor of Agricultural Engineering, while Hamzat holds BSc Agricultural Engineering and PhD in Civil/Environmental Engineering. Also expected as Special Guest is the President of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering, Engr. Prof. Azikiwe Onwualu. The event will be chaired by the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. Tasiu Saad Gidari Wudil
Also expected are President, Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN, Prof Sadiq Zubair Abubakar and the Vice Chancellors LASUSTECH, Prof. Olumuyiwa Omotola Odusanya and Bells University of Technology, Prof. Jeremiah Oludele Ojediran
Mr. Kolawole Adeniji, the keynote speaker, is a trained Mechanical Engineering Technologist with over 25 year experience working on diverse agro-allied projects across Nigeria and Africa. He is a prominent stakeholder in the agro-allied machinery and equipment fabrication in Nigeria and he holds enviable positions in Cassava Value Chain businesses in Africa. He is the Founder and Chairman of Niji Group comprising four other subsidiaries namely Niji Lukas Nig. Ltd., Niji Farms and Allied Services Ltd., Niji Foods Nig Ltd., Niji Institute of Sustainable Agriculture and Ripples Hotel and Nite Club in Nigeria; operating in agricultural machinery fabrication, crops and livestock production, food processing, centre for learning profitable agriculture and hoteling/tourism business sectors. He has won several awards including Century International Quality Era Award (Gold Category), Geneva, Switzerland in 2015. Kolawole Adeniji has an insatiable passion for quality and excellence with partnerships all over the world.
Prof Michael Faborode, the Panelist Moderator at the event, is former Vice Chancellor at Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife. he is one of the founding members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Ikeja Branch. Currently he is President of the Pan African Society of Agricultural Engineering.
