PROFILE OF ENGR. (DR.) WURAOLA ATINUKE OWOLABI ( NEE AGBAJE), MNSE, FNIEEE, R.ENG.

Wuraola Atinuke Owolabi (nee Agbaje) is the Managing Director/CEO of Wurvicat International Limited; an indigenous company in Engineering, Procurement and Construction also specializing in supplies of a wide range of Electrical distribution materials, Project Management and other related Engineering services. The Company has earned a reputation as an upwardly mobile professional organization within the Engineering profession.

Prior to setting up of her organization, Atinuke Owolabi garnered work experience within and outside Nigeria. She worked with Shoreline Power, a subsidiary of ABB Electrical systems for about two years and later joined Schneider Electric. While at Schneider Electric, she outstandingly contributed to the growth and profitability of the company. With her bold and passionate enthusiasm, she made the low and medium voltage portfolio of Schneider Electric a high-ranking brand within the Power Sector.

She obtained a B.Eng. (Hons) Electrical Engineering from University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria and a Masters in Engineering and Management at Coventry University, United Kingdom. She also holds an Honorary Award of Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering and Technological Development, Honaris Causa, by European American University, Commonwealth of Dominica Africa Operations. She is a member of several professional bodies. She is active in promoting the Engineering Profession and has served in several capacities.

Engr.Atinuke Wuraola Owolabi is a diligent business executive with can do spirit which propels her towards excellence and remarkable success in all her endeavors.

Atinuke has passion for community development and poverty alleviation among the down trodden and the less privileged. She is the founder and currently runs three NGOs namely: Touch of Love and Lifting Hands Foundation, Wurvicat Solar Foundation and Engr. Wuraola Atinuke Owolabi Capacity Building Initiative (WAAO CBI). The primary focus of Touch of Love is the provision of comfort and relief for widows and senior citizens. The Wurvicat Solar Foundation was set up primarily to alleviate poverty among the youths and also create job opportunities for them through a series of free training programmes in pursuant of some of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

While the Engr. Wuraola Atinuke Owolabi Capacity Building Initiative (WAAO CBI) is geared towards educating and transforming the minds and heart of the society, especially women and kids. It is a foundation engaged in capacity building especially among young girls and boys through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEM (A) initiatives. Atinuke has also won several awards of excellence, professional, political and humanitarian awards on the basis of her personal achievements and the accomplishments of her foundations.

Atinuke as a politician is the Convener of Coalition of Professional Women in Politics and President of APC Professional Women Network and recently appointed as the Director of Professional Women Directorate, TinubuShettima/SanwooluHamzat Independent Campaign Council. She was an APC Chairmanship Aspirant from Ifako-Ijaiye local government, Lagos State but was asked to step down due to Party Supremacy. She has always been a party faithful and loyalist. She has won several awards on Social, Political and Professional Impacts. Recently, she presented a paper to the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria, Lagos chapter on: Agitating for good Governance, the role of female Engineers in the Electoral process towards 2023 General Elections and another presentation to the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Victoria Island on: The role of Engineers in Politics.

Atinuke is a Council for the Regulation of Engineers in Nigeria (COREN) registered engineer, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE) and Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). She is also Member, Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria, (APWEN), Member – National Council of Womens Societies, Nigeria (NCWS), Member, Sustainable Development Standing Committee of National Council of Womens Societies, Nigeria and Member – Society for Women Engineers, SWE (Chicago) USA
