NIMechE Calabar Chapter yesterday the 12th of November, 2019 paid a technical visit to Gospell Digital Technology FZE. Gospell Digital Technology FZE is a leading DTV and triple- play solution provider for Digital TV/OTT and Household entertainment manufacturing company in Nigeria.
They were founded in 2014 as the first indigenous DTT/DTH set top box assembling & surface mount technology (SMT) Plant. In simple terms they make decoders with a plan to evolve to making TVs, tablets and mobile phones in the future. They are currently heavily involved in making decoders for the Federal Government of Nigeria through the National Broadcasting Commision for the Digital Switch Over (DSO).
The chapter spent amble time touring round the SMT lines, DIP lines and their assembly line. We saw all their processes and we are impressed that we can manufacture/ assembly decoders in Nigeria.
