Webber Engineering specializes in the Building of Basketball courts, Manufacturing of Basketball Hoops and associated equipment. We also produce lasercut sheetmetal for architectural metal works.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

As a Quantity Surveyor at Webber Engineering Nigeria Limited, you will be a key contributor to our construction projects, responsible for managing costs, contracts, and resources.
Your role involves accurate cost estimation, budget control, efficient resource allocation, and ensuring project financial success.

Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

1. Prepare precise cost estimates considering materials, labor, equipment, and overheads.
2. Develop and manage project budgets, monitoring expenses and suggesting cost-saving measures.
3. Analyze costs and provide recommendations for cost optimization.

Contract Administration:

1. Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
2. Review contract documents, identify issues, and propose solutions.
3. Negotiate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers for favorable terms.
4. Maintain thorough contract records.

Resource Allocation:

1. Collaborate with project teams to allocate resources effectively, optimizing project outcomes within budget.
2. Monitor resource utilization and make adjustments to enhance efficiency.

Project Reporting:

1. Regularly report on project costs, budget variances, and financial performance.
2. Keep project stakeholders informed of cost-related matters.
3. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Cost Control:

1. Implement cost control measures to prevent overruns and identify cost-saving opportunities.
2. Manage change orders and evaluate their impact on project costs.
3. Conduct value engineering assessments for cost-effective project outcomes.

Documentation and Records:

1. Maintain comprehensive records of financial documents, including invoices, receipts, and payment certificates.
2. Prepare final accounts accurately and comprehensively.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Preparation of Bill of Quantities (BOQ), tender documents, and contract documents.
2. Preparation of Materials and Labor schedules.
3. Conducting cost analysis, cost control, and preparing cost reports for ongoing projects.
4. Conducting site visits and preparing site reports.
5. Overseeing project management, including project planning, initiation, and timeline management.
6. Managing project budgets and resources efficiently.
7. Skillfully negotiating with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and artisans.
8. Developing payment plans and handling prequalification of tenders and recommendations.
9. Additionally, staff members may be assigned other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the company to support our operations and objectives.

Requirements

1. Degree in Quantity Survey, Civil Engineering or other related courses
2. 5 years of Quantity Survey experience in an Engineering firm
3. Adequate experience in Project management.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
5. Excellent negotiation and contract administration skills.
6. Proficiency in cost estimation and budget management.
7. Effective communication and reporting skills.
8. Attention to detail and record-keeping.
9. Familiarity with construction industry standards.
10. Resource allocation and utilization expertise.
11. Knowledge of value engineering principles.
