Engr. Zayyanu Yabo Tambari bags Chemical Engineer’s fellowship

Engr. Tambari, Zayyanu Yabo, has been elected as a Fellow of the Nigeria Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE).

The event was part of the 53rd Annual International Conference/Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE) hosted by the Edo/Delta States Chapter at the PTI Conference Centre and Wellington Hotel , Effurun, Delta State, Nigeria, between 02 and 04 November 2023.

Engr. Tambari, Zayyanu Yabo, FNSE, is a public sector technical and commercial regulator in the oil & gas industry in Nigeria with over 15 years’ experience in engineering designs, technical reviews, policy formulation; advocacy & implementation, project management, monitoring, regulation and evaluation.

He is currently the Technical Assistant, Midstream Operations & Infrastructure Development to the Authority Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA). He is also a member of the technical support team of the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (PI-CNG).

Zayyanu has served at different times in strategic presidential, ministerial and inter-agency committees on various aspects of the oil & gas and energy sector in Nigeria. He was Team Lead, Communications and Stakeholder Implementation Working Group of the Presidential Steering Committee on the Implementation of Petroleum Industry Act (PIA-2021) (2021-2023). He was a member of the National Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP) – a Ministerial initiative to deepen the use of gas in Nigeria – as a Resource Person on LPG (2020-2023). He participated as a member of the technical team that produced the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Nigeria Industry Standard on LPG (NIS: 555) in 2020.

He has delivered technical papers and served as discussant at national and international conferences on oil & gas and energy. He has also served as an Energy Expert representing Nigeria at the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Regional Summit of Ministers and Experts on Hydrocarbons and Environment in Burkina Faso in 2020.

Zayyanu is a graduate of chemical engineering of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and has a master’s degree in business administration in addition to many in-service courses in-country and abroad on various aspects of oil & gas industry, energy sector, leadership & management, policy and industrial relations. He is an alumnus of the Global Business Leadership Programme of Rome Business School; and has obtained high-level trainings certificates from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Mumbai, India & ADA University Summer Energy School, Azerbaijan/Kazakhstan.

Zayyanu is a Fellow, Nigerian Society of Engineers; Nigeria Institute of Water Engineers; Institute of Management Consultants; Institute of Management Specialists (United Kingdom); Centre for Public Service Productivity and Institute of Professional Managers & Administrators in Nigeria. He is a member, Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers; Society of Petroleum Engineers; Polymer Institute of Nigeria and Nigeria Gas Association. He is the Chairman, Incorporated Trustees, of the Sokoto Professionals Network and a Director, Board of Trustees, Education & Peace Initiative, Rwanda, amongst his other humanitarian intervention activities. He was also an industrial union activist and former Chairman, PENGASSAN, DPR Lagos Chapter.

He enjoys travelling, reading, writing and meeting people. He plays chess game on his leisure days.
