Engr. Dr. Amb. Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo is the amiable Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FunmiAyinke Nigeria Ltd., a multi-faceted engineering outfit certified by the Council for the Regulations of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
Not someone to be glued to a regimented environment and apparently in a bid to serve the society on a larger pedestal, Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo floated FunmiAyinke Nig. Ltd., a fast-growing engineering company that is competently involved in project management, consultancy services, supervision, design, processing and management of all organization businesses on every aspect of mechanical, electrical and civil engineering works
A native of Arigidi Akoko in Akoko-North Local Government of Ondo State, and a bundle of brain, beauty and courage, Funmilayo graduated from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State with Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering with Second Class (Hons,) Upper Division and Master in Business Administration (MBA) Executive from the prestigious Babcock University, Ogun State.
She started her working career under the National Youth Service Corps at the Ministry of Work and Housing, Gumel, Jigawa State. After nine months, she redeployed to the Works and Services Department, University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, after which she had a brief stint at Adefun Investment, Ibadan, Oyo Sate.
Funmi’s engineering prowess was brought to the fore when she joined the services of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). Here, she was made the Head, Mechanical Engineering Unit at the Works and Services Unit of the institution, where she handled numerous responsibilities covering diverse aspects of engineering and administration.
To drive home her love for the suffering masses of this great country, she established FunmiAyinke Humanity Foundation, an organization she has vigorously used to touch many lives through job creation, empowerment programmes for widows, single parents, abandoned children and children under the care of single parents. To date, the foundation has empowered over 10,000 women and sponsored more than 500 undergraduates among other gestures, in 2021 she launched her own Record Label, Funmiayinke Record Label with several Artistes under the label management.
Engr. Dr. Amb. Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo belongs to many professional organizations. She is a Fellow of many professional organizations including Fellow, Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), Fellow, the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (FNIMechE), Fellow Centre Public Service Productivity and Development (FCP), Fellow Institute of Management Specialists (FIMS), Fellow Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC), and the Institute of Management Consultants – Nigeria Certified Management Consultant. She is a Certified Mechanical Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN); Global Member, Project Management Institute (PMI), USA; Certified Procurement Cadre by the Bureau of Public Procurement and Chartered Institute of Management Consultants (CIMC) By the Global Representative, a Brand Ambassador to Nord Automobiles Limited, one of the first Nigerian automobile brands and Africa’s premier automobile corporation, Ambassador of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by the Peace Corps of Nigeria among others.
Engr. Dr. Amb. Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo, has earned several awards due to her selfless services to the society some of which are; The 2017/2018 Leadership Award of Excellence as an Icon of Societal Development by the Students Union Government, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Outstanding Women in National Development Merit Award (OWINDA) 2019 by Cooperate & Media Africa Communications Ltd., Award of Excellence in Contribution to Human Capacity Building on Youth and Women Empowerment, Peace and Unity Building in Nigeria and Africa at Large by Congress of Civil Society Organization in Nigeria, 2019. Humanitarian of the Year 2020 Awards by City People, Matron by National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Ogun JCC Axis, 2020.
