Born 60 years ago, precisely on the 04/06/1961 to the family of late Chief John Ahile & Mrs. Rebecca Tomoun Ahile, His Royal Highness, Comr. Engr. Timothy Tavershima Ahile attended the NKST Primary School, Ahobee, Ikurav-Ya in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State and Government Secondary School Lafia, Nasarawa state. He proceeded to University of Jos, Makurdi Campus where he studied Production Engineering/Design and graduated in 1986.
He did his NYSC in 1987/88 at Community Secondary School, Asage Ohafia in Imo State (present day Abia State). Upon completion of his National Youth Service, he took up appointment with DELCON Engineering Ltd. An oil services company in Warri as a safety Engineer. He left the services of DELCON Engineering Ltd. to pick up an appointment with the Benue State Teaching Service Board as a Teacher of Physics, Technical Drawing and Introductory Technology.
In 1993, he transferred his services to the Ministry of Works as a Mechanical engineer, where he started the practice of Maintenance Engineering and Management of human resources. At the Ministry of Works, he was responsible for the supervision of all V.I.O and Fire Service Units of Benue State, as well as managing the only Government-owned Filling Station in the Ministry at the height of fuel scarcity in Nigeria in 1996.
In 1997, HRH Engr. Timothy Tavershima Ahile transferred his services to the Federal University of Agriculture (now known as Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University), Makurdi as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. He rose through the ranks to become the Acting Director of Works and Maintenance Department at the university. He is a COREN registered engineer and a member of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE).
Engr. T. T. Ahile as he is fondly called by his Colleagues has a strong sense of justice as such; he was elected by his Union SSANU as branch Chairman in 2003. He doubled as the Secretary of SSANU, Northern zone. The Northern zone, in expression of its satisfaction with his diligent service elected him; unopposed as Vice President (North) and National Financial Secretary from 2004 to 2014. He served SSANU for 10 years at the National Level, helping to organize most of SSANU branches in the Universities of Northern Nigeria. He represented SSANU at various negotiations with the Federal Government of Nigeria. He also served on the NEEDS Assessment Implementation Committee. He has attended several Union Leadership Training Workshops in and outside Nigeria.
He served the University Community in various capacities and committees which include: Member; Condition and Scheme of Service in 2004 and 2011, Member; Vice-Chancellor’s Office Appraisal Committee, Chairman; Alumni Campus Chapter, Member; Budget Monitoring Committee and Member: University/Host Community Relations Committee amongst others.
His Royal Highness, Comr., Engr. Timothy Tavershima Ahile is a born again Christian and a Committed Rural Evangelist; planting churches in Rural areas. He has served his Church as an Elder for 15 years and at present, is still a serving Elder. He is also a Trustee and President of the Gideons International, covering Nasarawa, Benue and Taraba states.
His Royal Highness is the first of ten children and is married to Mrs. Rhoda Kpadoo Ahile nee Ityodugh Akaa and their union is blessed with 3 children. He loves farming, making new friends, reading novels, playing volley ball and table tennis.
He was appointed Ter Kwande on 03/08/2021 through an election, where he won 12 votes of 17 casted by the king makers of Kwande Traditional Council amongst three contestants.
