The Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers has announced a shift in the date and venue of 2021, Annual International Conference and AGM from October 19th to 22nd to November 16th to 19th 2021.

The announcement was made by its Executive Secretary, Engr Udeme Akpan in a press release to members.

According to him, this is a part of resolutions made at the Council’s Emergency meeting held on Monday, October 18th 2021. In addition, to change the date, a new venue was also announced.

It will be recalled “that the 2021 NIMechE International Conference /AGM date had been fixed for 19th to 22nd October 2021. The EXCO together with various committees and Subcommittees were constituted and commenced the planning for the activities. The controversies surrounding the status of the NIMechE EXCO led to the stoppage of all the necessary preparations towards the AGM/ Conference, and by implication leading to the earlier approved date becoming no longer feasible. This, therefore, necessitated the need to shift the date to allow for better preparations.”

New Date: Tuesday 16th – Friday 19th November 2021

New Venue: Nile University of Nigeria, Plot 681 Cadastral Zone, Airport Road Bypass, Jabi Abuja.

He conveyed the Councils apology for the inconvenience that this change may have occasioned.

Members are also implored to note that despite this development, registration for the conference continues. A new conference flyer reflecting the changes is being circulated for proper guidance.
