The Chairman of Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, NICE, Plateau Chapter, Engr B. M. Bott has been appointed as Patron by the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers Students Affiliate, NICESA, North Central Zone Executive members. The Zone comprises all tertiary Institutions running Civil Engineering course in North Central geopolitical region, Nigeria.
The award was presented at a courtesy visit by the Executive members of NICESA North Central Zone led by their coordinator, Comrade Shekwoyemi Daniel Kurape a 500 level student at University of Jos. He was accompanied by Ononiba John Okechukwu, Secretary, and Davou Dachomo Dung

A medal was awarded to the Chairman in recognition of his continuous mentorship and support to engineering students in the state.
The students used the opportunity to present NICESA North Central zonal programme plans and activities reports to Engr. Bott.
Engr. B. M. Bott who is also a Director at Ministry of works, Plateau state, commended the students for their efforts and sacrifices. He assured the leadership of the North Central zone of his full support and pledged to be directly involved in the activities within the zone to ensure their success.
Engr Bott encouraged the North Central Leadership to set up academic event to Foster students’ healthy competition, learning and drive innovation within the scope of the Civil Engineering profession.
He used the opportunity to brief the delegation on the activities of the ministry within the state and the opportunities available to students. He counselled them on how to get involved in the activities of NICE at professional level. .
He invited the student body to the investiture of the newly elected NSE Chairman Jos chapter.
NICESA, an acronym for Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, Students Affiliate is the student wing of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, a division of Nigerian Society of Engineers. The body was created by NICE to among others, drive Professionalism among students and prepare them for postgraduate experience in civil engineering. It also the platform for uniting Civil Engineering students associations across the country and to address issues of collective interest, welfare and professional development.
