Engr Alhaji Mustapha Gubio Honourable Commissioner of Reconstruction , Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RRR) received and led the adhoc Committee on Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Set up by the Speaker House of Representative to visit Borno State on an oversight security visit to North-Eastern States,
The committee who is chaired by Rt. Hon Iduma Igariwey which consist of Rt. Hon. Usman Zanah Member House of Representative for Kaga, Magumeri and Gubio federal constituency, in their arrival paid a courtesy call on His Excellency, Umar Usman kadafur, the Deputy governor of Borno state, where they discussed on interface with relevant agencies and on ascertaining the level of destruction by Boko Haram, level of Humanitarian and infrastructural situation in other to ensure increased allocation so that the roads, houses and schools destroyed by the insurgents can be reconstructed.
Hon Iduma Igariwey, Rt. Hon. Usman Zanah alongside with other committee members meet with Borno State stakeholders, which comprised of the Hon commissioner of RRR, Hon. Mustapha Gubio, Commissioner of Local Government, Hon. Sugun Mai Mele and some Local Governments caretaker chairmen and other respected dignitaries to further discuss on the situation of the state.
The adhoc committee also visit Gubio IDPs camp to take the pain of coming to the displaced persons where, Rt. Hon. Usman Zanah said, they are there as a team to do an on-the-spot assessment of the security situation in Borno State.
In addition to that, Hon. Usman Zanah said, the situation cannot be address unless we come to see and speak with people who are directly affected , the team is here present to engaged with the displaced persons in camps, with a view to restoring sustainable peace to the region.
Moreover, the adhoc committee on their further move, paid a visit to His Royal Highness the Shehu of Dikwa, Masa II Ibn Umar El Kanemi and the theater Commander of operation lafiya dole, where also they delineate on the security situation in the state and see how the army can iron out the frictions and fast tracking the restoration of lasting peace in the Northeast.
