The Immediate Past president of the Federation of African Engineering Organizations (FAEO) and a Former president of Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr Mustafa Balarabe Shehu will deliver the 2017 NSE October Lecture in Abuja. Event organised by the Nigerian Society of Engineers has been dedicated to address the Energy Challenge in Africa.

The October Lecture is a biennial lecture initiated by the NSE to afford engineers and general public the opportunity to tap from wealth of experience of past NSE presidents. As a result of their wide coverage of National and International events as well as their professional and leadership exposure, it is believed that the Past presidents should be availed the opportunity of sharing their experiences with focus on preferring solutions to challenges facing the community.
Human Engineering Resource Development was the fulcrum of the 25th edition and was delivered by Engr. Olumuyiwa Alade Ajibola who was president of NSE between 2010 and 2011. His paper titled “Creativity in the Application of Nigerian Engineering Resources for effective Economic Development: A National Policy Imperative” Where he outlined ways the country can utilize the engineering manpower and resources and also challenged the engineers to rise up to the task of nation building. About Engineer Mustafa Balarabe Shehu
Engr. Mustafa Balarabe Shehu, the Chairman/CEO MBS Engineering Limited, studied electrical engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria where he graduated in 1985. He started his working career with the National Electric Power Authority in Egbin, Lagos in 1986 after which he got appointed by the Kano State Rural Electricity Board in 1988 where he served up to his resignation in 1998 at the position of Deputy Director.
Having resigned from the civil service in 1998, he established Amal Engineering Services Limited, which was later, renamed as MBS Engineering Limited. It is an engineering firm involved in power systems designs, building services, renewable energy technologies, environmental engineering, cost engineering and project management amongst other services. It has wide clientele base ranging from Federal and State Government Organizations, Transmission Company of Nigeria, Central Bank of Nigeria among others.
Engr. Mustafa Shehu participates actively in the activities of professional and business Associations. It is in these regards he holds the following positions:
