The Board of Regents, BoR, led by the Chairman and Chancellor, Landmark University, Dr. David Oyedepo, has appointed Professor Adeniyi Olayanju as the third substantive Vice-Chancellor of the institution with effect from August 1, 2017.

The new appointment was prompted by the recall of Professor Aize Obayan, the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, by the proprietor of Landmark University, Living Faith Church Worldwide. Also, the BoR further appointed Dr. Azubuike Ezenwoke as Registrar, to succeed Dr. John Izebere.

The new appointments were announced by the Secretary to the Board, Mr. Temidayo Eseyin at the University Assembly during its fourth convocation and the Release of Pathfinders Class of 2017. During the announcement, Eseyin noted that the university arrived at the choice of Professor Olayanju through credible process that certified his competence with proofs in line with the agrarian mandate of the university.

Professor Olayanju was, until his appointment, Dean, Student Affairs, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. He is a member of Nigerian Institute of Agricultural Engineers, NIAE; Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE; Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology, NIFST, and Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN, among others. The Registrar, Dr. Ezenwoke, has a doctorate in Computer Science. He was Dean, Student Affairs, Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, and had been adjudged the youngest Registrar in Africa.

Breif Bio

Prof. T.M.A. OLAYANJU graduated from the University of Ibadan with B.Sc.; M.Sc.; and Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering in 1992, 1997 and 2002 respectively. As an undergraduate, he was on the Dean’s Honours list and the president of Agricultural Engineering Student Society. He also got the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Graduate of the Year Award in 1996 and in 1997 got the NSE Best Graduate Design Award.

Prof. Olayanju joined the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi (FIIRO) Lagos in 1997 and rose to the position of a Principal Research Officer before leaving for the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in 2004. He is presently a Professor in Crop Processing and Storage. He was a Deputy Dean in the College of Engineering between December 2009 and April 2010. He is presently the College Postgraduate Coordinator and Chairman, College Committee on Exams Results (COCER) and Deputy Dean, Student Affairs Division (January 2016-March, 2017. He a member of the appointment and promotion committee (APCAS). Also, he is the current Dean of Student Affairs.

Prof. Olayanju is a member of various University Committees such as UNAAB Ceremonials Committee (CERECOM) and Time Table and Exam Committee (TIMTEC). He has been involved in the execution of some national and international collaborative projects with UNDP/SMEDAN; DFID/PrOpCom; DESOPADEC, RMRDC and some of these have won laurels and financial gains for the University.

Prof. Olayanju has received commendations from the Vice Chancellor and Senate of the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. He is an active member of the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE), the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), a COREN registered engineer and has 36 published articles in reputable national and international journals, and refereed conference proceedings in his area of expertise.
