The Registrar, Council for the Regulation of Engineering, COREN, Engr Kamila Maliki has announced the re-election of Engr Kashim Ali FNSE, mni as the President of teh COuncil. This was contained in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja
Kashim Ali has been re-elected President of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria for another term of three years.
The statement said Ali was re-elected President at the 149th Ordinary Council Meeting of COREN on March 16
It added that Prof. Emmanuel Ajav was elected as Vice President of the Council after “a keenly contested election”.
According to the statement, Ali, who promised “not to let the Council down”, described his re-election as a manifestation of the confidence the Council has in his ability.
The statement added that Ali prayed for the continued support of all members and God’s guidance to propel the Council to its desired destination.
Engr. Kashim Abdul Ali was born in Ofugo – Ankpa, Kogi State. He is a Registered Engineer, Fellow and Past President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, and Member of the National Institute.
He served as member of Nigeria Vision 20:2020 Steering and Implementation Committees, and Chair of the sub-Committee on Physical Infrastructure. He was also co-Chair of the Infrastructure Policy Commission of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, and member Policy Support Group to the Economic Management Team (2008 – 2010).
His working career started in the old Benue State Ministry of Works in 1982, before he joined the Federal Capital Development Authority in 1992, rising to the position of Director/Chief Executive Officer of the FCT Water Board, Special Adviser (Utilities), Director (Technical Services) of the Abuja Infrastructure Investment Centre, and lately, Director, Transportation, FCTA.
He holds the traditional titles of Olimene Ata Igala, and Galadiman Ankpa. He is married with four children, and loves reading, writing, travelling and social works.
